Let’s talk about one of our systems that’s popular because the glass fence doesn’t need any type of fixtures or hardware; it comes straight up from the ground. We call this the ‘invisible channel fix system’.
With 35 years of experience in the building industry, we have created a method of installation for this fence and are proud of the workmanship that we put in every project, big or small. We have to locate and mark where the glass panels by cutting a channel 10cm deep and about 4.5cm in width on the cement near the fence line. A specialised shock-absorbing plastic is laid inside the channel where the glass will be set. After that, the glass panel is inserted in place and the hole is filled up with a non-shrinking grout to add support. Nothing else is visible save the glass itself. No posts, no spigots, nothing to detract from the fence itself.
In the many years that we have been working on this type of system, we understand that planning and preparation is important because mistakes are simply unacceptable. Since the glass seems to rise from the ground and is supported by an invisible channel system, it certainly isn’t a practical job removing all the panels and resetting everything.
